Want to learn more about going to school in Canada?

Well, this is the place to be. There are a lot of different factors in selecting the right school for you. Things to think about:

  • The most important thing to ask is "Does the potential school offer the program you want to study?" A friend of mine applied to various schools, but only ONE school actually had what she was interested in.
  • The application process itself does cost money. Why waste money applying to a school you know you won't attend, even if you get in. That said, it's always good to have a 'back up' school in case you don't get into your first choice, but of course we don't want that to happen now do we?
  • Should you live at home or go away for school? You may want to live at home and reduce the costs of your education or you may feel that you need to get away in order to have the 'real' university experience. In either case, there are different considerations involved. There are many quality universities in Canada. They can be found in the great urban centers of Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, or the can be in smaller rural areas such as the small island of P.E.I.

In any case, your choice of university depends on many different factors. You should choose wisely so that you can maximize your learning experience. These days, a post-secondary education is very expensive, so you want to make sure that your investment of time and money isn't wasted. Some important factors you need to consider are size, quality and availability of programs. You may want to look at the annual Maclean's ranking of different universities, but keep in mind the best way to find the perfect university for yourself is to actually visit the campus itself and ask students there their impressions of the school. If the school you want to attend is on the other side of the country, try doing some research on the internet, my site has links to almost all the Canadian post-secondary institutions. If you're nosy and want to learn more about me, click here.
